Depop takes 0% commission from US sellers. Since July 2024, the only mandatory fee is payment processing at 3.3% + $0.45 per order. Sell a jacket for $50 and Depop takes $2.10 — you keep $47.90.

If you remember Depop taking 10%, that's outdated: US sellers stopped paying the 10% selling fee in July 2024. Depop now shifts its costs to buyers through a Marketplace fee added at checkout.

The key facts, as of September 2026:

• No selling fee for sellers in the US, UK and Australia (Australia since July 2026). Everywhere else, Depop still charges 10%.

How much does Depop take from a boosted sale?

A boosted sale costs an extra 12% of the item price. Boosted Listings is Depop's optional ad tool: your listing also shows up in "Boosted" tiles in search and suggested feeds. You pay the boosting fee only if a buyer saw your boosted listing (a view counts — no click needed) and bought the item within 28 days. Turning Boost off doesn't cancel the fee for buyers who already saw it.

The 12% is charged on the item price, excluding sales tax. Shipping counts only if you arrange your own — Depop never charges the boosting fee on Depop Shipping labels. The 12% rate applies to US and UK listings created from March 23, 2026; sellers in Australia and other countries pay 8%. Why did Depop take more than 3.3%?

If your payout is smaller than 3.3% + $0.45 of your price suggests, one of these is usually the reason:

1. The fee is charged on what the buyer paid, not on your price. Buyer-paid shipping and sales tax are part of the fee base, so the same item can carry a slightly different fee depending on where the buyer lives.
2. The flat $0.45 hits small sales hardest. It turns a $5 sale into a 12.4% fee and a $10 sale into 7.8%. Bundles help: the processing fee is charged once per order, not once per item.
3. The sale came through a boosted listing. That adds 12% of the item price, as shown above.
4. You covered shipping. If you offer free shipping, the cost of the label comes out of your payout.
5. The money hasn't arrived yet. Sales reach your Depop Balance 2 business days after delivery or 10 business days after the sale, whichever comes first. Funds are held if the buyer reports a problem, and a refund can push your balance below zero.

With free shipping and a boost, more than a quarter of the price never reaches you — which is how sellers end up asking why Depop "took 25%". Depop fees outside the US

What Depop takes depends on where you sell from:

In the US, UK and Australia, processing is charged on the item price plus shipping and any taxes. Elsewhere, the 10% selling fee applies to the item price (excluding tax) plus shipping if you don't use a Depop Shipping label, and payouts go through PayPal, which deducts its own processing fee.

Depop used to take 10% — here's what changed

Before July 2024, Depop charged US sellers a 10% selling fee on top of payment processing. The difference on a $50 sale:

Instead of charging sellers, Depop now adds a Marketplace fee to the buyer's total at checkout: up to 5% of the item price plus up to $1, excluding tax and shipping. On a $50 item the buyer pays at most $3.50 extra — the same buyer-pays model Vinted uses.
